Concept Project
For this personal project, I gave the classic IKEA instruction figure a fun remix. I wanted to celebrate the brand’s quirky charm but with a playful, bootleg twist.
The first piece introduces the bootleg concept and character, while the tote bag and keychain turn the design into something you can actually show off. Think of it as IKEA… but with a little extra attitude.
Process
Every good idea starts with messy sketches and this project was no different. I explored different versions of the bootleg figure, playing with poses, expressions, and how far I could push the weirdness while still feeling IKEA-ish.
From there, I cleaned things up, finalized the assets, and brought the designs into the real world. Seeing the bootleg character on a tote bag and keychain made it feel officially unofficial just the right balance of familiar and unexpected.
